CARISMA ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF ANTI-SPAM PRODUCT
Doylestown, PA – April 1, 2005 – CARISMA LLC has announced the commercial availability of i-SpamSnapper, their new SPAM countermeasure. This proprietary technology has been in the testing phase for more than six months and has received rave reviews.
“The volume of SPAM continues to increase daily”, said CARISMA President and founder Frank Ricciardi. “Some of our clients get so much undesirable e-mail that it takes them several staff hours per day to sort through all of it. In addition, legitimate e-mail messages are beginning to get lost in the volume, and that is simply not acceptable.”
William Dorn of Willow Grove-based Source One Management Solutions, LLC participated in the product’s test phase. “We were getting more than 3500 SPAM e-mail messages per day with our users averaging more than 175 per person. It was killing our productivity and it was a significant drain on our mail server” Dorn said. “Since we installed i-SpamSnapper, the SPAM has almost completely vanished. We estimate 99.5% of it is simply not getting through.” Dorn added “Further, we haven’t had a single false positive [a legitimate e-mail message that was flagged as SPAM] throughout the entire beta program.”
i-SpamSnapper is available in two versions. The first is a subscription-based service, and the second is installed on the customer’s network in the form of a network appliance.
“We wanted the service offering to be viable for both large and small businesses. Smaller enterprises will want to take advantage of the subscription-based countermeasure while larger businesses who host their own e-mail servers will want the power and flexibility of the on-site appliance” said Ricciardi.
Pricing for the appliance starts around $1,500 and requires a modest monthly subscription for ongoing updates to the SPAM definitions database, similar to an anti-virus product. The subscription-based service requires no investment in hardware and pricing starts at $39.95 per month for small domains of 5 – 10 email accounts.
“We are very excited about i-SpamSnapper and the positive impact it will have on our clients’ productivity”, said Ricciardi. Installations began April 1, 2005 and subscriptions will be available near the middle of the month.
